Scouts BSA offers a dynamic, youth-led program designed for young men and women in grades five through twelve. It’s the next step on the Scouting journey—a place where outdoor adventure, leadership development, and meaningful service come together to help youth grow into responsible, confident adults.
What sets Scouts BSA apart is its leadership model. While trained adult volunteers provide guidance, youth take the lead—planning their own activities, organizing campouts, managing troop operations, and learning from both successes and challenges. This structure builds independence, teamwork, and real-world decision-making skills.
The program is rich with opportunities for exploration. From weekend campouts to long-distance treks, conservation projects to high-adventure expeditions, Scouts learn resilience, self-reliance, and respect for the outdoors. Along the way, they earn merit badges that expose them to more than 130 areas of interest—from first aid and swimming to robotics, aviation, law, and wilderness survival.
Many Scouts set their sights on achieving the rank of Eagle Scout, a prestigious accomplishment earned through years of dedication, leadership, and a significant service project planned and executed by the Scout. Earning Eagle is not just an award—it’s a lifelong distinction that demonstrates perseverance, character, and the ability to lead.
