The North Star District covers the northernmost communities of the Katahdin Area Council and supports units through training, activities, and year-round outdoor programs. With dedicated volunteers and commissioners, the district ensures that every unit has the tools, guidance, and opportunities to deliver a strong Scouting experience.

Whether it’s camping, advancement, service projects, or local events, the North Star District is committed to helping youth grow into confident leaders while exploring the best of Maine’s wilderness.

The Katahdin Area Council serves youth across Aroostook, Hancock, Penobscot Valley, Piscataquis, Waldo, and Washington counties in Maine. Each county forms a district led by a volunteer committee and supported by commissioners, who help units run smoothly and ensure leaders have the training and resources they need.
