The District Award Dinners are an important part of the Friends of Scouting Campaign, bringing the community together to celebrate the impact of Scouting and give leaders an opportunity to support the Council’s programs and camps.
Each year, the Katahdin Area Council hosts four dinners across Aroostook, Hancock, Piscataquis, Penobscot, and Waldo counties. These gatherings honor outstanding individuals and organizations who demonstrate integrity, service, and a genuine commitment to their communities.
Golden Eagle Award Dinner (GED)
The Golden Eagle Award recognizes individuals or businesses who exemplify integrity and a true concern for others in their community.
Good Scout Award Dinner (GSAD)
The Good Scout Award is presented to individuals and organizations who embody the “Spirit of Scouting” through selfless service. Recipients may not have been Scouts themselves, but they inspire our youth through their dedication, generosity, and positive example.
These awards honor those who give back without expectation of return, and who model the values that help young people grow into caring, responsible leaders.
